Texty Mobile & Web App

In a focused six-week sprint, I took on the role of UX Designer to enhance Texty's mobile and web apps, catering to high-value influencers monetizing their interactions with fans through personalized audio, video messages, and text subscriptions

The Challenge

As Texty approached its launch, it became evident that users were struggling to fulfill orders and identify high value fans. The mobile app, designed for creators to communicate and sell content had unclear workflows that missed the mark.

The Solution

To address these issues, I focused on empowering creators by implementing advanced sorting and filtering features for their fans. Additionally, I reimagined the "Chats" section, transforming it into a dynamic workspace where creators could efficiently fulfill orders while engaging with their fans.

01 - Comprehensive evaluation

From minor issues like missing menu items to larger questions about aligning the design with their user stories, an in-depth review revealed a redesign may best serve their users.

Key Discoveries:

  • ‘Chats’ & ‘Contacts’ both obtained space on the lower navigation, but were nearly identical.

  • Texty’s workflows lacked clarity.

  • Heuristic evaluation indicated various key user flows for order fulfillment, filtering messages and user registration.

02 - Personas & handoff

Texty’s ideal personas are creators with a large fan base, looking to monetize one-on-one interaction. These creators may use multiple social platforms including twitter, instagram & TikTok to connect with fans, but there is no clear work flow for converting those interactions into revenue.

Prototype testing indicated creators had reservations about the “workflow” Texty was providing.

Alignment of goals:

Creators are looking for a clear path to revenue in their fan interaction. Texty is looking to win over creators to their platform, and empower them with tools to make revenue.

03 - Sorting & Filtering

The reimagined "chats" workspace is crafted with a focus on revenue opportunities. By incorporating sorting, filtering, and ranking fans based on their spending, creators gain complete visibility into the distribution of their time commitment with fans.

04 - Item creation

Texty creators can sell personalized audio & video messages, as well as one-on-one phone calls. I redesigned their profile setup and customer facing webpage to mimic their socials and advertise their phone numbers.

05 - Wireframes

Texty required over 200 wireframes to be built before launch.

07 - Wrap up

Our mission was centered on answering the vital question: "How can creators best spend their time with fans?" Through the optimization of workflows, recognition of fan investment, and the creation of purchasable responses, Texty now provides a unique avenue for fans to interact with creators. Moments that might have otherwise slipped through the cracks now crackle with connection, marking a successful journey in refining and launching Texty's innovative platform.
